The mechanical briquetting machine is a type of biomass briquetting machine which normally used to make rob biofuel briquette.
By turning the bio waste into briquette, we increased the value of dust biomass/saw dust, making them easier to store, transport, and reduce burn losses, which not only a protection for the environment, but also allows us to create extra business value.
When the machine starts, the main motor drives the flywheel through the V-belt to rotate the crankshaft. The crankshaft rotates to drive the connecting rod and piston which makes the punch reciprocate.
After the biomass waste is added, it is sucked into the pre-compression chamber of the punch sleeve by the pre-compression structure of the raw material or by the vacuum suction generated between the punch sleeve and the downward movement of the punch and the ram. When the ram moves up, the biomass can be squeezed into the cone of the forming cavity. As the diameter of the inner wall of the forming cone gradually reduces, the biomass is finally extruded into a rod shape briquette.
Our mechanical briquetting machine is able to briquette all kinds of biomass residuals, including:
Rape straw, Pineapple waste, Peanut shells, Napier Grass, Olive Prunings, Miscanthus, Rice husks, Sugar Cane Waste, Bagasse, Wine Prunings, Reed, Wheat straw, Etc.
Wood shaving, Wood sawdust, Branch, Bark, etc.
The output briquette is a rob shape briquette which can be varied in diameter with different molds.
Diameter range: 8-100mm
Flexible die system
The varied-diameter-briquette is easy to change by different sizes with our flexible die system.
The system helps you to quickly change your mold only within one hour, your machine will be suitable to produce another size of briquette by this flexible die system. And even the briquette can be as small as 8mm like a pellet.
Easy meet all kinds of customer’s need by one machine but with different molds.
The biomass or wood briquette from the mechanical briquetting machine is mainly used as a fuel.
Some specific facilities where need the biofuel briquette are listed below:
- Biomass Based Power
- Gasified System Applications
- Refractory Industries
- Plant Solvent Extraction Plant

The mechanical briquetting system is designed to compress a wide variety of biomass residual. Every mechanical briquetting machine can be customized to work with the bio waste you have. Maxton offers a free testing work with our briquetter to help you design the best briquetting system for your biomass residual to meet recycling goals.
- Briquette with flexible die system, produce different sizes briquette only with one single machine.
- Different feeding structures to ensure the briquette quality of all kinds of materials and keep your investment at a low level.
- Mold manufactured with special alloy steel, light and small, and a long service life.
- A three-steps pre-press makes the briquette higher in quality.
- Force piston and shaft oil lubricating system, extends the service life of the machine and a smooth working condition.
- A rough range requirement of the raw materials from size to moisture, easy to briquette them without extra investment on crusher and dryer.
A simple mechanical briquetting process is quite easy to set up only with several other machines – conveyor, crusher and dryer.
Functions of other machines in this briquetting system.
The conveyor is used in the transporting step to take the raw material to the next step. Different conveyors can be used in these sections like belt conveyor, screw conveyor, etc.
Those size-too-big materials should be crushed before the briquetting step. The crushed materials will help to improve the quality of the finished briquette as well as protecting the briquetting machine to get a longer service life.
For some high moisture materials, drying would help to reduce the moisture, and a dryer is a machine to make this step much quicker in a short time. Suitable moisture will improve the quality of the briquette and reduce the power consumption. Know more of the moisture affection for the briquette system, just follow this article.
Other optional machines also can be involved in the mechanical briquetting plant according to what your specific need is.
